In
June of 1995, Your Family, Friends, and
Neighbors started a youth group for
young people aged 20 and under. The
group was created to provide a positive
support and social network for those
young people who have discovered or are
struggling with the realization that
their sexual orientation and/or identity
may not be as most others.
The group meets
each week on Sunday
from 4-6 pm at the
Community Center. 919 N
27th St in Boise Idaho.

During the past year the group has
participated in a variety of activities
including; bowling, video games, movies,
coffee, hiking trips, pumpkin carving,
volunteer efforts, and conversation and
group discussion about "coming out".
Ideas for activities are encouraged to
come from the young people and
occasionally from the youth group
advisors.
Our wish is to
provide young people with an opportunity
to meet and receive the support of other
young people who are bisexual, lesbian,
gay, or transgender. The group is open
to for non-gay youth who are supportive
of their friends who are lesbian, gay,
bisexual, or transgender. The youth
group provides the opportunity to
interact with positive adult role models
in a safe and non-threatening
environment.

We aspire to have two adults (one male,
and one female) present for all
activities.
Adult sponsors are interviewed and
background checks/fingerprinting are
done on them before they are allowed to
work with the group.
We utilize the assistance of licensed
counselors.
